Our Story
Designspace is a Brisbane based family business. We have been designing, manufacturing and supplying commercial quality furniture around Queensland and Australia for the past 10 years. Our primary furniture supplier is Emtek Furniture, manufacturer of commercial furniture for over 30 years. Emtek's iconic furniture can be seen at major installations around Queensland including the 'Gabba' stadium, Boondall Entertainment Centre, 'Ribs and Rumps' restaurants and the 'Coffee Hit' cafes. Our fabric range is sourced from Warwick Fabrics, colour swatches can be veiwed on the Warwick Fabric website.
Quality and Choice
Our furnishings are foundation pieces that will last a lifetime and form the basis for your home décor. Our commercial quality products are typically on the wholesale market and are now exclusively available online to retail customers for the first time ever. We wanted to offer a wide range of colours and variations for our retail customers, this is our point of difference. Environmental Impact
Ethically sourced products will last a lifetime. Each of our core items are selected for their durability and design flexibility. They are a long term investment with a reduced environmental impact. Our products won’t be found in landfill in 2 years time, they are built tough to last and can be easily refurbished or re-purposed.
Local products – Local jobs
Our furniture range has been carefully selected from a small range of local suppliers who make their furniture locally, employing local people. Suppliers including Emtek furniture, Eurolaminated designs and Officeline furniture use quality components from Warrick fabrics, Dunlop foams, BHP steel and Laminex. Our select hardwoods and ply products are sourced from sustainable forestry in Australia.
Our products are made to order. We do not import container loads of furniture or have a warehouse full of furniture flat packed, in one colour only, for you to put together yourself.
As you build your piece of furniture in our online store, selecting colours and variations, we set to work making it for you. Some of our items can be made in a short timeframe, others will take longer for us to manufacture. This is calculated when you order each item.
